A four-room guesthouse tucked into 1,000 m² of south-facing garden right in Cluny's classified historic center. The house itself dates to 1903 — built by the personal chef of Austria's last emperor — and is now in its third generation with the same family. They gutted and renovated it in 2017, trading any musty grandeur for clean contemporary design: think curated vintage finds, natural leather and wood, and a palette that shifts from turquoise to warm earth tones room by room. Small by design, and better for it.

Chambre 4 — Garden Cottage
From EUR95 / nightFully separate from the main house, at the far end of the garden under hazelnut trees. This is the one to book if you want maximum privacy. Has its own private terrace, air conditioning (only room with A/C), and both a shower and a full bathtub — a step up from the main-house rooms. Note that Wi-Fi only works if you're inside the main building; the cottage itself is out of range.

The property arranges access to bike hire at Cluny's old train station, which sits at the start of the Voie Verte greenway. Arrangements made via velos-cluny.fr. Good for day trips into the Mâconnais vineyards.
Combined horse riding and wine tasting experience through local partner Les Sabots de Verres (Séverine Mornand) in nearby Chaintré. Arranged through the property.
Sunrise balloon flights over Burgundy arranged via partner Montgolfières en Charolais. Launch from nearby Flagy and Clermain. Bookable through the property as a concierge arrangement.
