Why It Matters

Opened in June 2024, Mandarin Oriental Mayfair is the brand's second London property and the first new-build hotel in Mayfair in over a decade. Just 50 rooms and suites, a subterranean spa with a 25-metre pool, and a rooftop bar with views to Hampstead Heath — all wrapped in a striking burnt-red brick tower designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners. At 549 square feet, this is a genuinely residential-feeling suite with a railroad-style layout: separate living room, bedroom, and marble bathroom in sequence. The living room has de Gournay chinoiserie wallpaper in turquoise inspired by the magnolia trees in Hanover Square, a sectional sofa, curvaceous armchairs, and a mirrored minibar. The bedroom has a king bed with floor-to-ceiling windows and an Art Deco-style vanity. Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout, but views are of surrounding buildings rather than skyline.
Signature Suites
The hotel's most elevated accommodations, designed by Studio Indigo with Mandarin Oriental's Asian heritage woven into distinctly Mayfair-inspired aesthetics.
