The Chihuly chandelier in the ground lobby weighs 2,100 pounds and is made of 683 hand-blown glass and crystal pieces. Columbus Circle is literally the point from which all official city distances to and from New York are measured — so the hotel sits at the symbolic center of the city.
Mandarin Oriental, New York lives more than 280 feet above Columbus Circle in the north tower of Deutsche Bank Center. The lobby lands on the 35th floor — you ride an elevator just to check in, which sets the tone immediately. All 244 rooms and suites sit on floors 35 through 54, so every single one has a view worth writing home about: Central Park, the Hudson River, or the Manhattan skyline, depending on which direction you face. The Asian influence runs through everything — bamboo flooring in the spa, Japanese rice paper window treatments, cherry-wood furniture, live orchids in rooms — but it never feels theme-park-y. Same footprint and finishes as the skyline rooms, but oriented to face Central Park. The views are the main event — green canopy stretching north, the reservoir, and on clear days the full sweep of the park. Book these over the skyline rooms if the park view matters to you.
Central Park View Suite
One-bedroom suite with sweeping Central Park views. Warm red and orange tones inspired by sunrise over NYC. Features a separate living area with dining table and dedicated work desk, powder room, and a master bedroom with marble ensuite bathroom with dual sinks. Serious size upgrade over the standard rooms.
Hudson River View Room
Faces west toward the Hudson River. The sunsets from these rooms can be extraordinary — particularly on higher floors when the sky turns orange over the water. Same luxury amenities as other standard rooms.
New York Suite
A flagship signature suite with separate dining room, living areas, and master bedroom. Large enough to feel like a proper apartment above the city. Used as the showcase for the Suite Arrivals package.
Oriental Suite
One of the signature suites, with the hotel's characteristic Asian-inflected design carried through at a larger scale. Each suite has its own color palette tied to the NYC cityscape — uplifting oranges and yellows for sunrise, teals for dusk and the Hudson River, amethyst tones for New York at night.
Presidential Suite
One of the top-tier suites in the property. Multiple rooms, expansive living space, and floor-to-ceiling views across the skyline. Suitable for VIP stays and private entertaining.
Skyline View Room
Entry-level rooms that aren't entry-level in any real sense. At roughly 400 sq ft these are spacious by Manhattan standards. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out over the city skyline. Cherry wood furnishings, a neutral palette, Asian accents, a chaise lounge, and a dedicated work desk. The marble bathroom has a deep soaking tub, separate shower with rainfall showerhead, and a wall-mounted TV.
Suite 5000
