Mango House started as the private home of Italian fashion photographer Gian Paolo Barbieri, who bought the property on Mahé's southern tip in the 1970s and gave it the name. Today it's a 41-room luxury resort that opened under Hilton's LXR banner in July 2021, and it's grown to include five restaurants and bars, a spa, and three pools — but still feels more like a house party than a hotel. On Mahe's southwest coast at Anse aux Poules Bleues, it sits on the main island, so no costly inter-island flights required.
