MANNA Arcadia
Heritage mountain retreat meets warm Nordic-Greek aesthetic. Earthy and sensory: fir-scented air, crackling fireplaces, natural materials everywhere. The vibe is deliberately slow—sheep bells on door handles serve as Do Not Disturb signs.

Why It Matters
Opened to international recognition in 2023, winning Hotel of the Year 2024 along with five Gold Awards including Best New Hotel, Best Hideaway Retreat, Best Design Hotel, and Best Historic Hotel. One of very few luxury hotels on mainland Greece operating year-round at altitude. Farm-to-table restaurant by award-winning chef Athinagoras Kostakos—same chef cited for the lighting of the Acropolis. Lighting design by Eleftheria Deko. Artworks by Greek painter Nikos Kanoglou.
A 32-room luxury mountain retreat inside a landmarked neoclassical sanatorium built in 1927–1929, perched at 1,200 meters in the fir forests of Mount Mainalo. The building served wounded soldiers and tuberculosis patients until penicillin made it obsolete; it then sat empty for eight decades before owner Stratis Batagias acquired it at auction and restored it with archaeologists on board. K-Studio and Monogon Office of Architecture handled the revival—think pale wood, terrazzo floors, copper tubs, rattan ceilings, and sheepskin upholstery. Opened July 2023.
