Margot House is a nine-room boutique hotel on Barcelona's most prestigious stretch of real estate, Passeig de Gràcia — sitting directly opposite Gaudí's Casa Batlló. Named after the Wes Anderson character Margot Tenenbaum, the hotel was founded by father-daughter team Sergio and Sandra Durany and designed by celebrated Spanish interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán. The interiors balance Scandinavian restraint with warm Mediterranean touches: pale woods, micro-cement floors, and Catalan modernist details. With only nine rooms and no lobby fanfare, the whole place operates more like a well-appointed private apartment than a hotel.

The real reason to book ahead. At 32 sqm, these rooms face Passeig de Gràcia and Casa Batlló with floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with light. Room 2 (a Deluxe) reportedly has a standalone bathtub right in the bedroom — a seriously good party trick. These sell out fast.

The largest unit at 42 sqm, made up of the Premium Room and a Standard Room connected together — giving you 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Interior-facing, so no street views, but it's the only option if your group needs two separate sleeping areas. Good for friends travelling together or families with older children.

At 25 sqm with a king-size bed and a bathtub, this is where the property starts to feel properly luxurious. Still interior-facing but the bathtub changes the bathroom equation entirely. Raw-concrete and light-wood finishes throughout. Mr & Mrs Smith specifically called out the double-rainfall shower in Premium rooms as a highlight.

The smallest category at 18 sqm. No windows to the outside — entirely interior-facing — so natural light is not in play here. That said, the design is tight and considered: wood floors, micro-cement accents, Nespresso machine, smart TV, and a minibar. Good value for the location if you plan to be out all day.

A step up from Standard at 20 sqm — still interior-facing but with a larger bed for more breathing room. Same careful material palette of wood and micro-cement. The bump in size makes a real difference in this style of hotel.
