Masseria Calderisi
Rustic-chic masseria: whitewashed stone walls, blue-tile backsplashes, Moroccan lanterns on the Apero terrace, taxicab-yellow bed throws. Contemporary and cheerful rather than minimalist. Think well-traveled European couple taste — locally-made furniture mixed with artisanal pieces from Morocco, France, and Bangladesh.
Ask the concierge for the 'Calderisi Special' at the Apero Bar — it's not on the menu.
Why It Matters
Earned Michelin Key recognition in both 2024 and 2025. One of the few masserie with an entirely farm-to-table restaurant sourcing from its own kitchen garden, plus a private beach club (Calderisi Mare) accessible by complimentary shuttle. The secluded Il Fortino suite has its own private pool.
A 17th-century Puglian farmhouse turned 24-room boutique hotel, sitting on 24 acres of olive groves, citrus trees, herb gardens, and vegetable beds between Fasano and the Adriatic. Opened in spring 2021 by German couple Max and Jutta von Braunmühl, who fell in love with the region at their 2010 wedding. The grounds are serious — two full-time gardeners, a consecrated chapel, a kitchen garden that feeds the restaurant, and two adopted rescue donkeys roaming the olive groves.
