Why It Matters
One of the very few Michelin Key-awarded eco-resorts in Sicily. The entire property is powered by renewables, food largely comes from its own organic farm, and architect Gabriele Tumiati's restoration includes a hammam carved from a single 600kg block of Etna lava stone. The property also has its own private helipad.
A 19th-century Sicilian masseria — the kind of sprawling farm-hamlet that once fed entire villages — carefully restored into a 30-room eco-resort on a hilltop in the Val di Noto. From here, vineyard-covered limestone hills roll in one direction and the Ionian Sea glints in the other. The whole operation runs on solar energy, organic produce from its own Secolo 21 farm, and a genuine commitment to sustainability that goes well beyond marketing. It's earned a Michelin Key (2025) and is listed on Tablet Hotels.
