Why It Matters

ME Barcelona lives inside the bones of the Teatro Novedades, a theater and cinema that opened in 1869 and closed in 2009. The building got a full contemporary overhaul — completed in 2021 — and the result is sharp: all floor-to-ceiling windows, Scandi-esque clean lines, warm tones, and original art throughout. It sits right at the corner of Passeig de Gràcia and Carrer de Casp, which means you're basically at the center of everything without any of the old-town chaos. It's also the only LEED International-certified hotel in Barcelona.
