Set inside the Golf Club Asiago on the high plateau northwest of Venice, Meltar is a 4-star boutique hotel in a restored 19th-century Cimbrian farmhouse. It has just 17 rooms, a proper Mountain SPA, two restaurants, and the rare perk of stepping directly onto one of Europe's most celebrated mountain golf courses. In winter, those same fairways convert to cross-country ski trails — meaning you can, quite literally, ski out the door.

Junior Suite
Junior Suites range from 32–70 m² — a wide spread. The best of the bunch is Room 303 on the top floor: 70 m² with a rooflight, making it the largest room in the hotel. Room 201 on the 2nd floor has a private terrace with forest and golf views. Room 305 can sleep four and comes with a whirlpool tub and sofa. All have double beds and generous layouts.

Standard Room
The entry-level rooms at Meltar are still individually decorated with wooden floors, mountain-inspired wallpaper, and original farmhouse architecture. Sizes range from 16–32 m². Some face the golf course, others look toward the mountains or have skylights on the top floor. Small but characterful.

Suite Deluxe
The top tier. Room 203 is 42 m² on the 2nd floor with golf course and mountain views. Room 207 is the bigger option at 44 m², also on the 2nd floor, with its own external access and forest views. Both have double beds and represent the most spacious, polished expression of the hotel's rustic-modern aesthetic.

A step up in space, the Superior rooms run 25–40 m². Most are on the upper floors with forest or golf course views. Room 301 on the 3rd floor is a standout at 40 m² with golf course views. Direct access to Golf Club Asiago, an award-winning Peter Harradine-designed 18-hole mountain course considered one of the most beautiful in Europe. Open daily from May to October. Comes with a driving range (covered and natural grass), putting green, pitching green, golf academy, cart and equipment rental, and a Mountain Store.
On-request cooking class with the Meltar's own chef, including visits to local wineries and Asiago cheese producers to source ingredients. A hands-on way to eat your way through the plateau.
On request, the hotel arranges tours to local wine and cheese producers on the Altopiano. Given that Asiago is literally the home of Asiago DOP cheese, this is worth doing.
In winter the Golf Club Asiago fairways convert to a Nordic ski loop — guests can literally ski out from the hotel door. Over 500 km of marked cross-country trails across seven connected ski centers on the plateau. Ski schools, equipment hire, and ski coaches available.
E-bikes available for guests, with options for both demanding descents and gentler routes. Personalised excursions can be organized by the hotel team.
Countless trails of varying difficulty across the Altopiano di Asiago, with over 100 mountain farms (malghe) along the way for food and culture stops. Flat walks to serious mountain hikes, all accessible directly from the hotel.
