Why It Matters

The first genuinely contemporary boutique hotel in Gstaad, offering an alternative to the established palace-hotel scene. It holds the only rooftop bar in town. Chef Tom Walter's training under Michelin two-starred Tanja Grandits elevates the brasserie well above typical hotel dining. The hotel is listed in the Michelin Guide.

Miiro The Mansard is a 29-room boutique hotel sitting right on Gstaad's promenade — a deliberate, relaxed counterpoint to the town's grand palace hotels. Built by Swiss craftsmen using local materials like larch wood and parquet, with interiors by Gstaad-based Rieder Bach Studio, it gets the Alpine aesthetic right without the stuffy formality. The ground-floor brasserie is run by Chef Tom Walter, who trained under Tanja Grandits at the Michelin two-starred Stucki in Basel, and the rooftop is the only one in Gstaad.
