Why It Matters
Barcelona has very few hotels that combine a genuine historic building (1929 Universal Exposition), sweeping 180° Mediterranean views, and a fully modernized luxury interior. The outdoor pool cabanas by Patricia Urquiola and the Barcelona-exclusive Rossano Ferretti Hair Spa are real differentiators. Private events have Michelin-starred chef Nando Jubany attached. The location on Montjuïc is either a feature or a bug depending on how you feel about a 20-minute walk or short taxi to the Gothic Quarter.
A 1929 Noucentista palace on the eastern slope of Montjuïc that sat dormant for decades, now fully renovated into a five-star urban resort with genuinely spectacular views over the Mediterranean and Barcelona's port. The original façade is intact — all pale stone and Catalan classicism — but inside it's been completely redone with contemporary design, Natura Bissé amenities, and Bassols Egyptian cotton linens throughout. Position-wise, it's an unusual spot: quiet enough to feel like a retreat, but technically 10 minutes from the Eixample grid.
