Why It Matters
Co-created by the founder of Mama Shelter alongside Philippe Starck and Michel Reybier. B Corp certified, Green Key certified, fully organic restaurant. MOB stands for 'Maimonide of Brooklyn' — the name alone tells you this place has a philosophy behind it, not just a mood board. It opened in March 2017 and has become a genuine community hub for Saint-Ouen.
MOB Hotel Paris Les Puces is the affordable, socially conscious project of Cyril Aouizerate — one of the co-founders of Mama Shelter — who planted it right in the heart of Saint-Ouen's legendary flea market district, just a few Metro stops from central Paris. You get 92 colorful, no-frills rooms (no TVs, ever), a certified organic Italian pizzeria, rooftop terraces, an urban vegetable garden with its own henhouse, a Biocoop grocery, a Patagonia boutique, and a packed cultural calendar. The whole thing runs on B Corp ethics: organic cosmetics in every room, zero single-use plastics, local sourcing, and on-site EV charging.

The biggest room in the house at 38 m² — more than double the standard. Sleeps up to 4 adults with a queen bed and 2 extra beds. Some configurations are accessible for guests with reduced mobility (PRM). Still no TV, still organic cosmetics, same ethos but actually room to breathe.

A small family room that squeezes in a queen palace bed plus a rice-straw tatami mat for children under 10. The headboard doubles as a shadow puppet theatre. Still 17 m², so it's compact, but thoughtfully designed for parents who don't want to book two rooms. No TV.

Same layout as the standard MOB room but opens directly onto a private outdoor terrace. The terrace is the real reason to upgrade — same room footprint inside at 17 m², but a private outdoor space to actually use. Sleeps 2 adults and 1 child.

How you'll actually spend your days.
A dedicated co-working area for digital nomads and working guests, with high-speed WiFi available throughout the hotel.
MOB runs a weekly cultural calendar covering live music, DJ sets, film screenings (in the outdoor cinema in the courtyard garden), dance workshops, meditation, cookery classes, and community happenings. The schedule is published on the website under 'Happenings'. Locals and guests mix freely.
The restaurant's courtyard garden converts into an outdoor cinema for film screenings, mostly in summer. Also used as an occasional music venue.
On sunny days the rooftop opens for coffee, Happy Hour, BBQ, and organic cocktails. The hotel also rents the rooftop as a private outdoor space for special events.
The world-famous Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen is about 400 metres from the hotel front door. Biggest antiques and flea market in the world, operating on weekends. MOB makes it easy to browse and come back to drop your finds.
Neighbours tend allotments on the roof and are happy to give tours of the urban garden. There is also a functioning henhouse on-site — the hens supply eggs for the organic breakfast buffet.
