Why It Matters
Every room has panoramic NYC skyline views, which is genuinely unusual for a downtown property. The art collection was personally curated by the founder Jack J. Sitt from Thor Equities Group and includes museum-caliber pieces throughout. JIMMY, the 18th-floor rooftop bar, is one of the few NYC hotels with an outdoor rooftop pool accessible to guests. ModernHaus SoHo is a 19-story glass-and-concrete tower that rises sharp and unexpected from the low-rise cobblestone blocks of lower Manhattan. All 114 rooms face outward — every single one has skyline views — and the interiors are loaded with serious art: works by KAWS, George Condo, Harland Miller, Hans Hartung, and Jean Dubuffet line the halls. It's a hotel that takes both design and the neighborhood seriously, and that's a rare combination in New York.
