Book the Nidus suite for the Jacuzzi terrace — it's the only room with that setup and the Acropolis views from up there at night are exceptional

Why It Matters

Recipient of a Michelin Key 2025, one of only six One-Key hotels in Athens. The building itself is a protected Modern Monument by Greek law. Each of the nine rooms is genuinely unique — not 'designer-room unique' but architecturally distinct due to the original mansion's layout. The rooftop Nidus suite has a 52sqm private terrace with a Jacuzzi overlooking the Acropolis.

Nine rooms inside an 1881 Ernst Ziller neoclassical mansion in Athens' Psyrri neighborhood — the same architect behind the Presidential Mansion and National Archaeological Museum. The building sat abandoned for years before owner Grigoris Tolkas and local firm MPlusM spent years restoring it, working closely with the Ministry of Culture's Directorate of Conservation to bring back original frescoes, gypsum details, carved marble balconies, and the grand winding staircase. It opened in 2023, and the Greek government officially classifies it as a protected historical landmark. No lift, no restaurant, no pool — and those are features, not bugs.

Echo Suite with Balcony

Second-floor counterpart to the Acanthus at 40sqm. Same balcony view of Agios Dimitrios church, but with a mirrored accent wall and furnishings from Gubi, Woud, and Menu instead of Norr11. The sitting area includes the mirrored wall treatment that elongates the space visually.

The go-to for first-time visitors. 36sqm on the second floor with a private marble veranda that frames direct views of the Acropolis and the Byzantine church of Agios Dimitrios. Glint

Glint

The smallest room in the house, but don't let that put you off. Clever use of a mirrored wall makes the 19sqm feel larger than it is. First-floor position, painted ceilings, king-size bed with plush headboard, and furnishings from Gubi and Frama. Bathroom has a rainfall shower and Molton Brown toiletries. A Dyson hairdryer is provided.

suite

Nidus with Acropolis View and Private Jacuzzi

The rooftop suite — accessed via a private narrow staircase from the second-floor landing. The room itself is 31sqm with a slanted ceiling and furnishings from &Tradition and Norr11, but the real draw is the 52sqm private terrace outside. There's a Jacuzzi out there with unobstructed Acropolis views. Sitting area with floor-to-ceiling windows, king bed. Watching the sun set over the Acropolis from a private hot tub is as good as it sounds.
