Moor Hall
Historic country manor with a modern, Scandinavian-influenced interior. The vibe is serious about food but quietly comfortable rather than stuffy. Fourteen individually designed rooms lean into botanical and nature themes — think bleached woods, mossy greens, dark linens, and lake views.

Why It Matters
Three Michelin Stars plus a Michelin Green Star and Five AA Rosettes. Awarded Two MICHELIN Keys for the hotel selection in 2025. Voted No. 1 restaurant in the UK in Harden's Top 100 Best UK Restaurants. The sister restaurant, The Barn, holds its own Michelin Star. The full dining experience includes a garden tour, a snack served by Birchall himself in the kitchen, and a tasting menu called 'Provenance' rooted in the estate's own produce.
A Grade II* listed, mid-16th-century manor house set in five acres of kitchen gardens and grounds surrounding a lake said to be the remnants of a medieval moat. Moor Hall is first and foremost a three-Michelin-star restaurant — the rooms exist to complete the experience, not the other way around. Chef Patron Mark Birchall, a Lancashire native and former Roux Scholar, built this into arguably the UK's best restaurant since opening in 2017, earning its third star in 2025 and topping Harden's national diners' poll.

How you'll actually spend your days.
A curated selection of British and Irish farmhouse cheeses, hand-made by individual farmers from their own herds. Served as a course option during dinner.
Every dinner at Moor Hall includes a walk through the kitchen gardens followed by a final amuse-bouche served by Chef Patron Mark Birchall himself inside the kitchen, where he introduces the produce for the evening. It's part of the standard dining experience, not an add-on.
Five acres of working kitchen gardens growing beetroots, turnips, step-over apple trees, herbs, and seasonal produce — also home to the micro-dairy and charcuterie operation. Guests are free to wander the grounds.
A newly refurbished private dining room seating up to 12 guests, with views over the grounds. Available for exclusive private events and special occasion dinners.
