Mother Goose opened in 2014 inside the former Ubica buildings on Ganzenmarkt — a pair of adjoining structures whose history stretches from a 16th-century city castle, through stints as a mattress factory, to a squat occupied by 10–15 people until the early 2000s. The 23-room boutique hotel was designed by Morph Design, with each of the four floors carrying its own colour palette: white, grey, brown, and black. It holds the Golden Green Key sustainability certification and uses recycled materials throughout.

Two Large Goose Rooms connected by a linking door, giving families or groups the option to stay together while keeping separate spaces. Available in white, grey, and brown floor versions. Must be booked directly with the hotel.
Large Mother Goose Room
At 21 to 25 m2, these rooms are the sweet spot for guests who want space without the suite price. Twin bed configuration available on request. Some rooms on the black floor have particularly dramatic design. Available on all four colour floors.

Running 19 to 22 m2, these rooms suit guests who want noticeably more breathing room. Available across all four colour floors — white, grey, brown, and black — each with its own design identity.
20 sqmMother Goose Suite
The top tier at 25 to 30 m2. These suites include a bathtub and direct views of the Dom Tower. Available on all four colour floors. Guests report the black floor suite as particularly atmospheric. Baby cots available at no extra charge on request for infants under 2.

The smallest option at 16 m2 — compact but full of character with old-style design elements. Available on the white, grey, and brown floors. Good for solo travellers or couples who don't plan on spending much time in the room.

Utrecht is famously a cycling city. Mother Goose rents out bikes directly at the hotel — handy for exploring the canals and wider city like a local. Available for half-day, full-day, or multi-day rentals.
A healthy vegetarian (vegan on request) breakfast delivered to your room in a picnic basket between 7AM and 11AM, in partnership with Vegitalian next door. More of an experience than a service.
