A 19th-century Anglo-Norman half-timbered manor house sitting on a private island formed by two arms of the Seine, about an hour from Paris. What was once a water mill (decommissioned and transformed in the early 1900s) is now a 4-star boutique hotel with 12 rooms and suites, Baccarat crystal chandeliers in the dining room, a piano bar with a stone fireplace, and rowing boats for guests to drift around the island. The setting is genuinely serene — no traffic noise, just river sounds and 3 hectares of wooded park.
