Why It Matters
RVA's first and only Moxy property. The building's bones date to 1922, now dressed up in signature Moxy neon and eclectic decor. Bar Moxy doubles as the front desk — a genuinely fun check-in experience. Location is excellent: 7-minute walk to the Greater Richmond Convention Center, 10-minute walk to the Virginia Capitol, and steps from the city's best dining neighborhoods.
Richmond's first Moxy hotel occupies a converted 1922 building, renovated in 2022 into 100 rooms across 8 floors. Check-in happens at Bar Moxy — you swap your credit card for a welcome 'Got Moxy' cocktail, which tells you everything you need to know about the vibe. The lobby is a multi-tiered social space with retro games, a vapor fireplace, foosball, and enough seating arrangements to accommodate a solo traveler with a book or a group pre-gaming before a night out.

The entry-level room. Compact and smartly designed with a full-height art panel, leather lounge chair, 42-inch flat-screen TV, walk-in shower, and motion-activated LED guidelight under the bed. Available in city view or windowless configurations — the windowless version is noticeably cheaper. No mini-fridge in standard rooms.

The social sleepover room — a queen bed plus two side-by-side twin bunk sets. Sleeps four comfortably and is popular for birthday groups and bachelorette parties. The room feels intentionally campy; the bunk beds are part of the design, not an afterthought.
