Museum Hotel
Living museum meets cave luxury. Dark stone, antique-filled rooms, peacocks in the garden, wine taps in some rooms, and panoramic views across Pigeon Valley and the Red Valley. More intimate and historically charged than glitzy — this is not a resort with a swim-up bar.
The hotel faces roughly 270°, so guests can watch both sunrise AND sunset from the terrace — rare for any single property in Cappadocia
Why It Matters
The only Relais & Châteaux hotel in Turkey, and the world's first hotel where every artifact on display is officially registered in a national museum. The Lil'a restaurant earned Michelin Guide recognition and a 'Rising Chef' award (Chef Saygın Sesli) in 2023. The Roman pool is heated to 30–32°C year-round and faces Cappadocia's balloon-filled morning skies.
Museum Hotel sits at the top of Uçhisar — the highest point in Cappadocia — carved into thousand-year-old cave dwellings and restored stone mansions on the cliffs beneath Uçhisar Castle. Operating since 2003, it claims to be the world's first museum-concept hotel: every one of its 34 rooms is registered with the Nevşehir Museum and filled with genuine Hittite, Roman, Seljuk, and Ottoman artifacts that guests actually live alongside. It is the only Relais & Châteaux property in Turkey, and its Lil'a restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide.

Concierge-arranged horseback riding through Cappadocia's valleys, arranged by the hotel team.
The hotel's concierge arranges private hot-air balloon bookings with reputable local operators. The hotel's elevated position on Uçhisar means guests can watch roughly 100 balloons fly past each morning from the terrace or their room — one of the best vantage points in all of Cappadocia.
A private cooking lesson with award-winning Chef Saygın Sesli (Relais & Châteaux 'Rising Chef' 2023). Guests work through traditional Cappadocian recipes using ingredients sourced from the hotel's ecological gardens, then share the meal together. Proceeds support the Indigo Foundation.
Private in-room or terrace breakfast experience arranged separately from the main buffet, with personalized setup.
Concierge-arranged private tours to Göreme Open-Air Museum (4 km), Zelve Open-Air Museum (8 km), Paşabağı (10 km), Kaymaklı Underground City (25 km), and walking/hiking in the surrounding valleys.
