Why It Matters
The only hotel of its kind in Italy — a genuine tree hotel on steel stilts suspended in a pine forest, with a 2,500 m² spa named SPA Arboris. The architecture alone justifies the trip. Add direct ski access to Plose in winter and Dolomite hiking trails from the door in summer.
Italy's largest treehouse hotel, full stop. My Arbor sits on 66 steel stilts up to 34 meters tall along a steep pine forest on the Plose mountain above Brixen, and the whole thing looks like a 21st-century Fallingwater dropped into South Tyrol. Architect Gerhard Tauber clad the boxy modernist structure in reclaimed larch and fir, so it actually disappears into the trees. Owned by Brixen native Markus Huber and his sommelier wife Renate since 2010, opened in May 2018.

Nest Suite

South-facing with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows and a private balcony overlooking the Eisack Valley and Sarntal Alps. Interiors lean into reclaimed larch and fir — earthy, warm, and very quiet. The daybed window nook is the room's standout feature: park there with a Nespresso in late afternoon and the light is something else. Walk-in rainfall shower, separate toilet/bidet, ample wardrobe. Treetop Suite
From EUR500 / nightOnly three of these exist, and they're the reason people come back. At 100 m², it's essentially a standalone stilted apartment lodged in the tree canopy — a separate living room with sofa-bed and dining area, two full bathrooms (one with freestanding tub and private sauna, one with walk-in shower), and a furnished south-facing terrace with an outdoor whirlpool looking out over the treetops. The views stretch far south into the Dolomites. Book early.

In summer, hiking and mountain biking trails start from the hotel door, with panoramic Dolomite views. Mountain cable cars reach 2,500m.
