Namyu The Place
Modern Design, Ultra-Private, Adult-Oriented Luxury
Check in between 3pm and 5pm to receive the welcome service — sata andagi (Okinawan donuts) and tropical fruit on arrival.
Why It Matters
One of Japan's most remote and exclusive villa resorts — just five units, each with a private infinity pool, max two guests per villa, and a guests-only French restaurant helmed by Head Chef Shotaro Takigami. Listed on both Tablet Hotels and the Michelin Guide.
Five villas. That's it. Namyu The Place sits near the southeastern tip of Miyako Island — itself already a detour from Okinawa — and makes absolutely no apology for how hard it is to reach. Each of the five suites is built in stonework and tile, with cool-toned textiles and pops of tropical greenery, and opens directly onto a private terrace and infinity pool facing the Philippine Sea. Nothing interrupts the view. At night, the Milky Way does the heavy lifting.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
About a 3-minute drive from the hotel. Boragawa Beach offers sea kayaking, diving, and limestone cave exploration. The hotel assists with leisure and activity planning.
Miyakojima's easternmost point — a narrow coral limestone cape extending 2km into the ocean with near 360-degree ocean panoramas. The hotel can assist with planning excursions.
Each villa has its own private 6m x 4m pool (1.2m deep) on the terrace. Unheated by default; heated pool available as a paid add-on. Two beach beds included. The pool effectively merges visually with the ocean on the horizon — classic infinity edge setup.
Short drive from the property. Aragusuku Beach has shallow surrounding waters ideal for snorkeling and is known for sea turtle sightings.
Being nearly at the southeastern tip of Miyako Island, with minimal light pollution, the night sky is reportedly extraordinary. Guests describe seeing the Milky Way clearly from their villa terrace and pool.
