Why It Matters
One of the few airport hotels in New Zealand that actually gives you a reason to extend your stay. A 3-hole putting green, 24/7 TechnoGym, outdoor pool, and a restaurant doing proper Asian-inspired food set it apart from the standard transit property.
Naumi is a Singapore-based boutique hotel group that took the airport hotel formula and shook it up. The Auckland Airport property sits just a 5-minute drive from the terminals in Māngere, and it genuinely doesn't feel like a place you're just passing through. The design draws from New Zealand's native Tui bird — there's a lounge with a 24-carat gold-textured wall featuring 95 hand-painted gold discs, art installations throughout, and rooms named after art icons rather than numbered floors.
