Neptune
Cool, masculine, design-forward boutique. Old-school elegance with a downtown creative edge. Custom furniture, local craftwork, and found European objects everywhere. Not a luxury property — more of a personality-driven urban retreat for people who find cookie-cutter hotels depressing.

Why It Matters
One of the few genuinely design-led independent hotels in Providence, built around local art and craft rather than franchise templates. The Boombox — Providence's first and only private-room karaoke lounge modeled on Tokyo and Seoul — is genuinely unique. Mémère's, the French-accented on-site restaurant, has become a neighborhood destination in its own right.
Neptune is a 52-room boutique hotel in Providence's Downcity historic district, occupying a handsome historic building on Fountain Street. The rooms are compact but deliberately so — custom-built bunk beds, Matouk linens, black subway-tile rain showers, and locally sourced artwork from RISD students give the place a very particular point of view. Think old-world elegance with a wink: antique portrait frames sourced from European flea markets hang next to crisp modern photography. It was previously called The Dean Hotel before Ash rebranded it Neptune.
