Nest Hotel Incheon
Industrial-minimalist with nature-forward touches. Exposed concrete walls meet warm wood tones, a metal mesh–ceilinged gym, and curated art throughout. The communal spaces feel open and design-forward; the rooms are lean but smartly configured. Outside, human-sized wicker nest sculptures and reed-lined paths along the water's edge give it a genuinely distinctive character.

Why It Matters
Korea's first Design Hotels™ member — and the only one in the country at the time of opening in 2014. The architecture, by creative studio JOH, is a genuine standout: a stacked cubist structure designed so that every level steps back to allow 360-degree views. Marriott Bonvoy points are redeemable here, which is unusual for a property of this indie-design sensibility.
South Korea's first Design Hotels member sits on Yeongjongdo Island, roughly 4 km from Incheon Airport's Terminal 1. The 370-room building is a cubist-meets-brutalist structure whose tiered, staggered levels give virtually every room a view of either the Yellow Sea or the surrounding reed fields and pine forests. Floor-to-ceiling windows tilt slightly outward to catch maximum daylight, and rooms open onto pizza-slice-shaped private balconies. This is very much an airport-adjacent resort done seriously — with multiple outdoor pools, a year-round heated infinity pool, a 1,000-book art library lounge, a mini-theater, and beautifully landscaped walking gardens. But get it straight: it's about an hour from central Seoul, and there's essentially nothing to walk to outside the property.

How you'll actually spend your days.

Outdoor children's play area on the hotel grounds.

The hotel's most underrated feature. Expansive sculpted gardens extend from the lobby's rear exit toward the Yellow Sea waterfront, threaded with walking paths through tall reed grasses and pine trees. Life-sized wicker nest sculptures with string lights appear along the paths — large enough to seat several people. At night, the whole thing glows. Two separate paths circle out to the water.
Adventure-minded watersports are available near the property, per the Marriott listing.
