Amsterdam Rai
Bold, colorful, design-forward. Six distinct room themes based on the building's cardinal-facing sides mix Japanese, Mexican, African, and Middle Eastern visual languages. The vibe is creative and slightly irreverent — the hotel literally has a 'voice' with a sense of humor according to guests.

Why It Matters
An OMA-designed architectural landmark that is both the largest hotel in the Benelux and a genuine design statement. The stacked-triangle form is instantly recognizable on the Amsterdam skyline. Rooms come in six world-culture-inspired designs, there's a rooftop Latin American restaurant on floor 24, and the whole thing sits literally adjacent to the RAI Convention Center.
This is one of the most architecturally bold hotels in the Netherlands. Designed by Reinier de Graaf of OMA (Rem Koolhaas's firm), the 91-meter tower is built from three stacked triangular volumes, each rotated from the one below — a direct reference to the old Signaal advertising column that once stood on Europaplein. Inside, it delivers exactly what the outside promises: 650 rooms drowning in color, a lobby with pink reception desks and giant koi fish suspended from the ceiling, and a rooftop Latin American restaurant with 360-degree city views. It's the largest hotel in the Benelux, but it doesn't feel like one.
