Why It Matters
A genuine adaptive reuse landmark: the building received the Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy in 2021, and GQ named it one of the Most Stylish Hotels on the Planet in 2024. Originally launched with a Michelin-starred food and beverage program by chef Ignacio Mattos (Estela), the hotel remains a proper culinary destination even after his departure. No pool, no traditional spa — but the Swan Room alone is worth a detour.
Nine Orchard is a 113-room boutique hotel inside the meticulously restored 1912 Jarmulowsky Bank building on the Lower East Side — right where Chinatown bleeds into Dimes Square. The Neo-Renaissance architecture is jaw-dropping: vaulted ceilings, pink Tennessee marble, a 60-foot domed rooftop tempietto. Rooms, by contrast, go deliberately quiet — muted palettes, heart pine floors, commissioned art by local artists, and custom Ojas speakers programmed with four NYC-curated radio stations.

KingDual Queen
The largest Queen configuration at 475 sq ft, sleeping four in two Queen beds. Has a proper entryway, antique custom desk, and an oversized bathroom — good for families or two guests who want extra breathing room.

600 sq ft with an expansive living area and oversized wrap-around windows. The European-style bathroom is a highlight — guests can choose between a walk-in shower or a tub.

The entry-level room and honestly small by any standard — 230 square feet with a Queen bed, walk-in shower, and high ceiling. But the details land: commissioned artwork, Ojas speakers, and Dimes-curated minibar.
QueenSupreme View King Suite
400 sq ft suite with a King bed, dedicated sitting area, and sweeping Manhattan skyline views. The suite designation earns its keep through the views on upper floors.
KingTerrace Suite
600 sq ft total including a 200 sq ft private terrace — a rare outdoor space in this part of the city. King bed, sitting area, and city skyline views.

The largest room in the hotel at 1,200 sq ft, with a 400 sq ft private terrace complete with lounge chairs and a dining table.
