No 38 The Park
Boldly British, vintage-meets-contemporary. Home-from-home atmosphere — think a wealthy aunt's townhouse, but with a concierge. Lounge plays as an informal art gallery; doors to empty rooms are deliberately left open so guests can snoop.

Why It Matters
Featured in Condé Nast Traveller, The Telegraph, and The Independent. Art collection includes David Hockney, Sir Peter Blake, and Roni Stretch. Listed on Tablet Hotels and Mr & Mrs Smith. Closest hotel to Cheltenham Racecourse at 15 minutes' walk. Owned and operated under Young & Co.'s Brewery.
A 13-room Georgian townhouse on the edge of Pittville Park in Cheltenham's north end — and one of the most characterful small hotels in the Cotswolds. The rooms are all different, all handpicked with mismatched antiques, bold wallpapers, and art by the likes of David Hockney and Sir Peter Blake. It mixes country-house comfort with a proper boutique hotel energy: lively bar, a strong seasonal restaurant, and staff who remember your name.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Cheltenham hosts a calendar of major festivals year-round including the Literature Festival, Jazz Festival, and Science Festival. The hotel sits in the heart of it all, a short walk from most venues.
The famous racecourse is a 15-minute walk from the hotel — the closest hotel to the course. Cheltenham Festival runs in March; racing happens year-round. The hotel serves pre-race breakfast and post-race dinners, and the bar stays open late on race days.
The entire hotel — all 13 bedrooms, restaurant, bar, and lounge — can be booked for exclusive use (one to three days). Ideal for weddings, private parties, corporate events, or Christmas takeovers. Fully bespoke; flexible on suppliers and format.
The hotel offers a dedicated meeting space for smaller business gatherings — named 'Meetings Under the Park'. Includes catering options from the kitchen.
Monthly antique and collectables market along Cheltenham Promenade (second Saturday of each month), plus a crafts market (third Saturday of each month). Both within easy walking distance.
Cheltenham's largest ornamental park is directly across the road. Rowing on the lake, walking, and Pittville Pump Room visits are all easy from the hotel's doorstep.
