Why It Matters
Designed by Divercity Architects and MPlusMArchitects and curated with the involvement of art collector Dakis Joannou, NOŪS is the first Yes Hotels Group property outside Athens. It takes a deliberate stance against the caldera-view monoculture of Santorini hospitality — trading cliffside drama for space, stillness, and a 4,000 sqm pool. The wellness program is built around 'Ef Zin', the Greek philosophy of well-being, and the spa uses Naxos Apothecary products and locally-sourced ingredients.
NOŪS opened in 2022 and immediately did something contrarian for Santorini: it built one of the island's largest resorts inland, at the village of Mesaria, rather than clinging to the caldera cliff. The result is a sprawling, low-rise complex of 119 rooms and suites, a 4,000 sqm zero-entry pool, and a serious contemporary art program — all wrapped in architecture that references burnt timber, volcanic rock, and island vineyards. It's Santorini without the Instagram scrum.

One of the property's signature room types. An 18 sqm private pool sits within a 65 sqm outdoor area that includes a dining terrace and sun loungers. The rainshower looks out onto a private courtyard. The living room sofa converts to a double bed — good for families of four. Rooms range from 43 to 67 sqm in interior size.
