Why It Matters
The original and flagship Octant property. Its distinctively industrial steel structure in the middle of a protected pine forest is striking, and the À TERRA restaurant — now led by Chef Jerónimo Ferreira — produces genuinely local food. The 2025 expansion added a new spa and pool suites with private plunge pools, a first for the property.
Octant Praia Verde is the original property in the Octant Hotels group — a steel, bracket-shaped structure rising out of a thick pine forest on the eastern Algarve coast. The mercado-style lobby doubles as bar, grocery store, lounge, and co-working space all at once. After a full renovation in early 2025 and the addition of a new building with spa, private-pool suites, and a second pool, the hotel now runs to 84 rooms. It sits about 950 metres from the beach, which takes a 10–15 minute walk through pine forest or a golf-buggy ride back uphill.

The standout room in the original building. At 52 sqm it's considerably larger than the standard, with a sofa, a private balcony with sea view, and the hotel's most-mentioned feature: a bathtub with an unobstructed sea view. Good for couples wanting a bit more breathing room.

The most unusual room in the original building — a two-level layout with a wide terrace opening onto the garden at the lower level, then a glassed-in balcony on the upper floor. At 61 sqm it's the largest non-suite option. Garden-facing rather than sea-view, but the extra space and quirky split-level design make up for it.

Praia Collection – Pool Master Suite
The top room in the new building. Spacious suite with a full terrace, balcony and private plunge pool. Designed for guests who want maximum freedom and privacy. One of only seven pool-suite rooms added in the 2025 expansion.
Praia Collection – Suite
More space designed for sharing. Includes a balcony and a support kitchen (microwave, fridge and sink) — more practical than a full kitchenette but enough to store snacks and drinks. Good option for families in the new building.
Praia Collection – Terrace
New room type added in the 2025 expansion. The terrace is the centrepiece — a generous outdoor space framed by the pine forest. Part of the new building. Specific size not yet published by the hotel.
Praia Collection – Terrace Plunge Pool
Private terrace plus a plunge pool — an important upgrade from the standard Terrace room. Designed for lazy, unscheduled swims between the pine forest and the sea. One of the most in-demand new room types from the 2025 expansion.

The entry-level sea view option. Contemporary design in white and neutral tones with minimalist furniture, balcony looking out over the pine forest to the sea. Espresso machine, USB ports and reading lamps built into the headboard. Compact but clean.

Guided jeep tour through the Baixo Guadiana region exploring the culture, history and landscapes of the eastern Algarve. Includes stops related to cork and salt production, charming local villages, and rural traditions. Maximum 6 people per jeep. Lunch supplement available at €22 per person.
Full-day private yacht tour along the Algarve coast, from Vila Real de Santo António to the islands of the Ria Formosa Natural Park in Olhão.

Free kids' club space for children aged 4–10 open year-round for painting, building and play. During summer and school holidays, organized activities are offered including treasure hunts, pizza-making workshops, beach games, T-shirt decorating, cinema sessions and pyjama party nights. Sessions typically run 10:00–13:00, 14:00–18:00 and 19:00–22:30.
Partnership with Vita Nativa Environmental Conservation for guided nocturnal wildlife experiences: chameleon spotting, night butterflies, nocturnal insects, and night sky viewing at the beach.
