Why It Matters
First One&Only resort in the United States, and the brand's debut ski property worldwide. The Olson Kundig design alone would put it on the map — but add Michelin-starred chef Akira Back, a private heated gondola to Big Sky Resort's Madison Base, a 17,000-sq-ft spa, and a whiskey shack in the woods, and you have one of the most genuinely complete new mountain resorts to open in North America in years.
One&Only's first American property is also the brand's first ski resort anywhere in the world — and it opened in November 2025 swinging hard. Set on 240 acres within the private Moonlight Basin community at roughly 7,000 feet, the resort was designed by Seattle's Olson Kundig, with clean lines, black steel, and stone-and-leather interiors holding a gallery-level art collection (nearly 80% by regional artists). Entry-level rooms start at a genuinely surprising 725 sq ft. Breakfast is included. And there's an Akira Back restaurant on the premises.

Alpine Cabin (1-Bedroom)
Studio-style freestanding cabins tucked among the trees. At 968 sq ft, these are larger than many New York apartments. The king bed faces floor-to-ceiling windows framing snow-dusted peaks. Two fireplaces — one toward the living area, one toward the bedroom. The private back deck has a fire pit, Adirondack chairs, and a hot tub. Bathroom has heated floors and a deep soaking tub.
KingAlpine Cabin (2-Bedroom)
Two-bedroom version of the standalone cabin, designed for couples traveling together or small families wanting seclusion. Same forest setting, private hot tub, and Olson Kundig finishes as the 1-bedroom.
Big Sky Suite
The showpiece room in the Main Lodge. A wraparound terrace with panoramic mountain views is the headline. Inside: a live-edge black walnut dining table, full kitchen for entertaining, and a primary bathroom where the soaking tub sits beside a window that cantilevers open directly to the terrace hot tub.
Guest Room
Entry-level rooms here are genuinely generously sized. Floor-to-ceiling windows face the mountains, and the fireplace connects both bedroom and bathroom. Heated floors, double sinks, soaking tub, and a Toto toilet with bidet are standard. Balconies with mountain views included.
Private Home (4–6 Bedroom)
Full private residences within the resort campus for multi-generational groups or extended stays. Five-bedroom plans span around 4,428 sq ft across three levels. Six-bedroom plans also available. All feature gourmet kitchens, expansive decks, outdoor hot tubs, and full indoor-outdoor living. Available in hotel rental pool. Rates from $9,900/night.

Suites start at 1,100 sq ft and follow the same Olson Kundig language as the rooms — but with substantially more living space. Connecting options available (king to double queens, or one-bedroom suite to double queens) making these popular with families.
