The Párisi Udvar is the kind of hotel where you check in and immediately forget whatever you were stressed about — not because it's calming, but because the lobby is so staggeringly beautiful you can't think about anything else. This 19th-century covered arcade, reopened as a hotel in 2019 after 85,000 hours of painstaking restoration, mixes Gothic arches, Moorish geometric tilework, Zsolnay ceramics, Miksa Róth stained glass, and a magnificent crystal dome into something that looks more like a cathedral than a hotel. The 110 rooms and suites are deliberately calm and contemporary — cool tones and clean lines that give your eyes a rest from the spectacle downstairs.
