Pałac Ciekocinko Hotel Resort & Wellness
Polish aristocratic country estate meets careful, high-craft restoration. Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and Biedermeier interiors. The palace wing feels grand and period-correct; the Carriage House goes coastal Hamptons casual. Not a spa resort in the typical sense — the character of the place, the horses, the library, and the grounds are the main draw.

Why It Matters
One of Poland's only countryside hotels to hold both a Michelin Key (2025) and a Michelin Bib Gourmand at its on-site restaurant. The restoration story is remarkable: the palace was stripped bare during communism, then left to rot for another 20 years before the current owner single-handedly took it on in 2004. It's also a fully operational equestrian center — guests can bring their own horses.
An early 20th-century aristocratic estate in the Kashubian countryside of northern Poland, rescued from near-total ruin in 2004 by owner Tomasz Bałuk and restored to a level that earned it a Michelin Key in 2025. Rooms are split between the ornate main palace — think Art Nouveau wallpapers sourced from the same Bradbury & Bradbury factory as the originals, silverware, and porcelain — and the more relaxed Carriage House, which trades crystals and orchids for wooden floors and jute curtains. The grounds run to nearly 2,000 acres, there's a fully working equestrian center on site, and the on-site bistro, Luneta & Lorneta, holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel can arrange a catered picnic outing to the nearby Baltic Sea beaches (about 5 km away). The coastline here is part of the Mierzeja Sarbska Landscape Park — wild and largely undeveloped.
The hotel can arrange a chauffeured tour of the 50+ historic palaces and manor houses within a 30-minute radius. Some date back to the 13th century. Many were lost or neglected during communism.
Hosted wine tastings in the palace's cool, moist cellar. The focus is on Bordeaux and the owner's personal favourite — St. Emilion. Simple format: an oak table, two old chairs, wine, Pecorino, and candlelight. Can be arranged for individuals or small groups.
Two private ponds on the estate grounds, equipped with piers and covered gazebos. Fishing equipment available to borrow from the reception desk.
Mountain bikes available to hire on site. The surrounding Kashubian forests have steep hills and muddy trails for proper off-road riding. Flat bikes also available for gentle sightseeing through meadows and fields. Reception can advise on the best local routes and which nearby beaches are worth cycling to.
Live jazz concerts held on Friday evenings at 19:00 in the outdoor Restaurant in Park during the summer season. Lanterns illuminate the old trees while guests dine al fresco.
An intimate fitness room in the Carriage House equipped with advanced Technogym equipment. Air-conditioned with park views. Positioned directly adjacent to the wellness zone.
A full working equestrian center on site — Ciekocinko Stables. Guests can ride with a guide through the estate grounds, or undertake professional horse-jumping training on a parkour prepared to International Horse Jumping Competition standard, with quartz sand from an Upper Silesia mine. A covered, heated riding hall (70m x 30m) operates year-round for bad weather. Guests can also bring their own horses — the stables have 18 boxes of 16 sqm each plus an English-style stable with 12 boxes of 12 sqm. Equestrian contact: +48 668 497 550.
The estate's 22-hectare historic park includes a historic Sommerweg (summer path) running along paddocks and through forested areas. Nordic walking poles available. Good for morning runs in total quiet.
Over 1,000 original books from the 18th to 20th centuries, in multiple European languages. The reading room features a rococo fireplace that pre-dates the current building. Antiques throughout. Billiards also available.
The kitchen prepares a bespoke picnic basket from the palace pantry. Order from reception, then pick your spot across the 22-hectare grounds.
