Palazzo Petrvs
Classically cool historic palazzo. Restrained grandeur with moody contemporary accents — think crittall glass panels alongside 500-year-old frescoes. Designer furniture from the 1950s and 60s lives alongside Renaissance fireplaces. The black-and-white stripe motif echoes the Gothic facade of the Duomo across the street.
Room 3 is a Deluxe option that overlooks Via del Duomo and the Cathedral facade — worth requesting specifically.
Why It Matters
Awarded 1 Michelin Key in 2025 — one of only about 2,500 hotels globally to receive the distinction in its inaugural year. The attached Coro restaurant, inside a former 16th-century oratory, has a serious kitchen helmed by chef Ronald Bukri, whose CV includes Sketch in London and time under Paolo Lopriore and Igles Corelli.
A 16th-century palazzo once owned by Renaissance notary Petrvs Facienus, left abandoned for generations and reopened in July 2023 after a meticulous restoration that stripped back centuries of plaster to reveal original frescoes, coffered ceilings, stone portals, and Renaissance fireplaces. Just nine rooms, each distinctly designed with limewashed walls, vintage Hans-Agne Jakobsson lamps, bold striped textiles, and tuff-stone walls. The restaurant alone — set inside a deconsecrated church with vaulted arches — is worth a detour.
