A 1930s Colonial-era mansion turned all-suite boutique hotel, Tintagel sits in Colombo's most elite neighborhood — Cinnamon Gardens — and carries serious historical weight. The building was previously home to three Sri Lankan prime ministers and was chosen as the official residence of King Charles III and Queen Camilla during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Designer Udayashanth Fernando of the Paradise Road lifestyle brand overhauled the property in 2005, threading contemporary Sri Lankan art and sharp modern interiors through the heritage bones of the building without a hint of colonial kitsch.

Executive Suite
Spread across both ground and first floors, the Executive Suites are all different in layout but share the same polished aesthetic: wooden floors, striped rugs and linens, contemporary Sri Lankan art on the walls. Each has a king-size bed and either a separate living area, private courtyard, or balcony. Bathrooms are polished cement with mosaic-tiled feature walls, rain showers, and soaking bathtubs. All the usual in-room kit — flatscreen TV, DVD player, minibar, free WiFi, free bottled water, air-conditioning.
King
Royal Suite
The grandest room in the house, and the one with the most famous former occupants — Prince of Wales (now King Charles III) and Camilla Parker-Bowles stayed here during CHOGM. Indigo and chocolate tones warm the space across a large bedroom and a separate lounge fitted with a Bose iPod dock. The lounge opens directly onto the main front balcony — a prime spot for private alfresco meals with garden views. Two further balconies lead off the bathroom, which features hand-finished mosaics, double vanities, an open dressing area, and a deep plunge-pool-style bathtub. Named after its regal guests, this is the suite to book if budget allows.
KingSuperior Suite
Spacious and sharper in layout than the Executive Suites, with wooden floors and modern Sri Lankan art on the walls. King-size bed, a separate living room, and either a private courtyard or balcony. The bathroom steps it up with a rain shower, soaking bathtub, and twin sinks. iPod dock is built-in (versus on-request in other suites). Same standard kit as across the property: flatscreen TV, DVD player, minibar, free WiFi, bottled water, and air-conditioning.
