Why It Matters
The Gëlle Klack house is protected as a historical monument and is the oldest surviving timber-framed structure in Luxembourg City. Sitting on the corner of two former Roman streets in the dead center of Luxembourg's UNESCO-listed old town, Parc Beaux-Arts occupies the Gëlle Klack house — a timber-framed structure whose bones date to around 1510, making it the oldest surviving framework in the old city, confirmed by dendrochronology.
