The Maçka Palas is a 1922 Art Deco building designed by Italian architect Giulio Mongeri — originally a luxury apartment block for Istanbul's elite, now a 90-room Park Hyatt. It sits in Nişantaşı, Istanbul's answer to the Upper East Side: designer boutiques, independent restaurants, and a residential calm that the tourist-heavy Sultanahmet crowds never reach. The building's dark stone facade and ornate interiors are the real draw. Rooms are decorated with Ara Güler's iconic black-and-white Istanbul photography. And the in-room Turkish hammams in the upper suites are genuinely special — not just a novelty.
