Why It Matters
This is the tallest Park Hyatt in the world, and one of the highest hotels on the planet. The top floor of the hotel sits at roughly 1,650 feet above ground — higher than the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong in the ICC tower. It also claims the city's first chocolate-themed bar (Cacao Mixology & Chocolate) and a 30-meter infinity pool on the 99th floor. The building itself is an icon: its faceted diamond facade was designed to evoke the raised-fist salute of Malaysia's first prime minister at independence.
Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur opened in August 2025 as the brand's first property in Malaysia, occupying floors 75 to 114 of Merdeka 118 — the second-tallest building in the world and the tallest in Asia Pacific. The 252 rooms and suites sit between levels 100 and 112, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame an almost surreal cityscape. Interiors weave Malaysian heritage into a contemporary framework — kampong-inspired timber, batik-etched brass screens, songket motifs — without ever feeling like a theme park.
