Patina Osaka opened on 1 May 2025 as Patina Hotels' first urban property and Capella Hotel Group's first hotel in Japan. The 20-storey glass tower sits directly across from Osaka Castle, giving a huge swath of the 221 rooms and suites front-row views of the 16th-century fortress. Design comes from Jun Mitsui & Associates Architects with interiors by Strickland, and the whole place leans hard into Japanese craft: washi paper headboards, warm wood and stone, and rooms built around kisetsukan, the Japanese concept of seasonal awareness.

The entry-level room here is still 50 sqm — notably larger than most Osaka hotel standards. Views face either Osaka Castle or the city skyline depending on the category. Washi paper headboard, tatami-lined daybed by the window, and natural materials throughout.
