Petit Hôtel Confidentiel
Contemporary boutique with theatrical interiors — monochrome blacks and crisp whites alongside warmer Club and Deluxe schemes. More intimate townhouse than grand hotel. Feels personal and surprising rather than polished and corporate.
Ask for the 'table des amoureux' in the restaurant — a private spot under a stone vault in the wine cellar, perfect for a romantic dinner
Why It Matters
One of the very few genuine 5-star luxury boutique hotels in Savoie. Michelin Guide-listed. Entirely owner-operated by a husband-and-wife team who built it from a single suite. The building's 15th-century shell hides a completely contemporary interior with zero formality — no formal reception desk, just a writing table. Restaurant Folie has its own serious culinary identity with a Malaysian-French fusion chef trained under Michelin-starred mentors.
Petit Hôtel Confidentiel is a 5-star boutique hotel hidden behind an unassuming 15th-century carriage entrance on a pedestrian street accessible only by pass, right at the foot of the Castle of the Dukes of Savoie in Chambéry's historic center. Owners Charlotte and Jérôme Reyes — a couple who designed it entirely around their own idea of what luxury should feel like — run the place with hands-on warmth: Charlotte may well answer your booking call personally, while Jérôme might be the one ferrying your luggage in an Ape Calessino. Inside you get 17 deeply individual rooms and suites, an all-black lobby with a 15th-century spiral staircase, a courtyard garden, indoor pool, and a proper restaurant.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Dedicated personal concierge for each guest. Can organise mountain trips, Geneva outings, Lake Aiguebelette excursions, restaurant bookings, and special surprises. Charlotte herself handles many requests.
The hotel lends Dutch-style bicycles for cycling excursions. The cycle path to Lake Bourget passes directly in front of the hotel's entrance — easy flat riding to the lake and surrounding vineyards.
Charlotte can arrange private lake cruises on Lake Bourget — one of the largest natural lakes in France, about 15km from the hotel.
Bespoke private transfers with the right vehicle for the occasion: luxury saloon for Geneva day trips, high-end 4WD for mountain excursions, or the hotel's iconic Ape Calessino for a tour of old Chambéry.
The hotel organises winery tours in the surrounding Savoie wine country. Can also arrange vineyard picnics.
