Insider Tip
1/6

Book the 5- or 7-night package rather than 3-night if you want to see more islands — short stays barely scratch the surface

Why It Matters

The only Relais & Châteaux property in the Galapagos Islands with its own private giant tortoise reserve. Holds 2 Michelin Keys. Winner of South America's Leading Adventure Hotel 2025. Carbon-neutral, solar and wind-powered, and built using local lava stone and sustainable bamboo. The all-inclusive package model (guided land + sea excursions on a private yacht) makes it the definitive land-based alternative to a Galapagos cruise.

Pikaia Lodge sits on the rim of an extinct volcanic crater on Santa Cruz Island, 450 meters (roughly 1,476 ft) above sea level, inside its own 31-hectare private giant tortoise reserve. It's the only hotel in the Galapagos with a private reserve — and the most credible land-based answer to the traditional liveaboard cruise. Just 14 rooms, all fully inclusive, with guided excursions by day on a private 145-ft yacht and gourmet dinners under the stars each night. A 2-Michelin Key property and multiple World's Leading Adventure Hotel award winner.
