Why It Matters
One of very few hotels in the 5th arrondissement with both an indoor pool/spa and a rooftop terrace. The European Ecolabel-certified property is part of the Ginto Hotels collection and listed on Tablet Hotels. The architecturally distinctive design — a concrete cube by Cyril Durand-Behar — stands out hard in a neighborhood of worn-stone Haussmann buildings.
A former raw-concrete garage turned seven-storey boutique hotel in the Latin Quarter, Hotel Pilgrim opened its doors at 11 Rue de Poissy to fill a serious gap in the Jussieu neighborhood's hotel scene. Designed by architecture firm Cyril Durand-Behar, the building softens its brutalist bones with 70s-era retro details — think orange and red sofas, lacquered panels, exposed brick and ceiling pipes, warm wooden floors, and art curated by Studio Saint-Lazare. Rooms are compact (Paris compact), but the hotel punches above its size with a rare subterranean spa and heated pool, and an even rarer seventh-floor rooftop terrace with panoramic city views.
