PoMo
Modern Design & Lively — bold post-modern interiors, graphics-forward branding, relaxed brasserie energy with serious mountain-access credentials.
Book a room on the upper floors for the best view of the Belledonne range at sunrise.
Why It Matters
Michelin Guide selected and part of the Tablet Hotels collection. Formerly a Best Western, it was overhauled and rebranded in 2022 as an independently styled property with genuine design intent. It holds the Green Key (La Clef Verte) sustainability certification, which is rare for a business-leaning Alpine hotel of this size.
PoMo is a 4-star hotel in Échirolles, the southern suburb of Grenoble, sitting squarely at the junction of city and mountain. The name says it all: the architecture and interiors are a confident post-modern mix of bold color, graphic typography, and modernist furniture. Rooms work equally well for a ski weekend or a three-day corporate stay, and the restaurant-bar spills out onto a terrace facing the Belledonne mountain range.

How you'll actually spend your days.
A compact but functional gym open daily 06h00–21h00 for hotel guests. Equipment includes treadmills, rowing machine, exercise bikes, and weight accessories. Towels provided in rooms.
The hotel recommends and can advise on the Grenoble Pass, a local visitor card giving access to museums, guided walks, and city activities. Suitable for weekend stays or layovers.
The hotel serves as a staging point for mountain biking, road cycling, and hiking into the Isère Alps. Staff hold local knowledge on trails. Multiple ski resorts double as bike parks in summer.
A 55m³ spring-water outdoor pool heated from May through October, open daily 09h00–20h00. Faces the Belledonne mountain range. Towels provided in rooms. Loungers and umbrellas available. Poolside bar operates during summer season. Exclusively for hotel guests.
The hotel is roughly 30 minutes by car from Chamrousse, Alpe-d'Huez, Les Deux-Alpes, Les 7 Laux, Autrans, and Villard-de-Lans. Staff can advise on road conditions and routes. The hotel makes a practical non-ski-resort base for resort hopping.
