Three rooms. That's it. Private Resort Hotel RENN is a micro-boutique B&B on Miyako Island's southern coast that punches well above its weight. From the outside it looks like someone dropped a cluster of futuristic glass boxes onto stilts above the coastline. Step inside and it shifts to Japanese restraint: slate floors, white linens, sliding glass doors that frame unobstructed ocean. Owner Renn runs the whole show himself and his mother cooks the breakfast — which guests consistently call the best they've had anywhere. Imugya Marine Garden, one of Miyako's top snorkel spots, is literally across the street.
