The building dates to 1854 and was once derelict before being transformed by architect Philippe Medioni.
Hôtel Providence is a moody, 18-room boutique sitting right on the border of the 10th and 3rd arrondissements — a neighborhood that has more in common with Canal Saint-Martin and the upper Marais than with any postcard Paris landmark. At 14m² with azure blue walls and printed velvet fabrics, this room has a genuinely Parisian feel. The bathroom features marble mosaic flooring and an 'Estriado' glass partition to let in light. Some rooms have a balcony with views of the Théâtre de la Renaissance directly across the street. The in-room cocktail bar sits on a marble counter with spirits and mixers loaded into the minibar below.

Deluxe Room
At 30m², this is a plush and cosy room with large Haussmannian-style doors, golden-leaf wallpaper, and a freestanding clawfoot bathtub next to the king-size bed. There's a sitting area with a teal armchair and a fully stocked bar with all the cocktail-making equipment you'd need. Some rooms have balconies depending on the floor. The en-suite also has a stand-alone rainfall shower and twin sinks.

The smallest room at 13m², but decorated like a treasure chest. Walls are lined with kilim-print velvet, the double bed has an elaborate starburst headboard, and there's a mosaic-tiled shower cubicle with a glass door and an antique sink. The custom cocktail bar and ice-maker sit right next to the bed — charming, though the bar does take up precious floor space. Good choice if you plan to spend most of your time out in the city.

Penthouse Suite
The top-floor suite at 45m² is the whole point of the hotel, honestly. Palm-tree print wallpaper, a record player with a selection of vinyl 45s, a private foyer and seating area, and a marble-topped in-room cocktail bar with ice-maker, shaker, and full kit. The mosaic-tiled bathroom has both a freestanding bath and a rainfall shower — and from the bath you can see the Sacré-Cœur. 27-inch iMac and flatscreen TV included. An extra bed can be added for €60/night; baby cots for under-3s are free.

At 21m², this is where the hotel starts to feel genuinely spacious. Patterned velvet walls, a stylish en-suite bathroom, and views of Rue René Boulanger and/or the Théâtre de la Renaissance. The signature cocktail bar is here too. ADA-accessible room available on request. Room 23 is a particular standout — midnight-blue velvet walls, a gold art deco starburst headboard, and city views.
