Provocateur
Burlesque-glamour boutique hotel. Moody, sensual, theatrical. More boudoir than business hotel.
Book a Bellevue or higher for a balcony — worth the upgrade in summer
Why It Matters
Winner of Mixology Bar Awards 'Hotel Bar of the Year' in both 2019 and 2024. Member of Design Hotels and Marriott Bonvoy. Interior by Saar Zafrir inside a beautifully restored 1911 Art Nouveau shell with an original 1912 elevator still in service. Each room has a 'Provocateur Mode' that transforms the lighting and ambiance at the press of a button. German Design Award winner 2018.
Provocateur is a 58-room boutique hotel inside a 1911 Art Nouveau building in Berlin's Charlottenburg district, just off the Kurfürstendamm. The interior, designed by Saar Zafrir, is a full-on burlesque fantasy: dark red and petrol-blue velvet beds, brass fittings, dim chandeliers, fishbone parquet flooring, and black marble bathrooms. Think 1920s Paris filtered through a Berlin lens. The bar is one of the city's best — a multiple award-winner — and in summer the terrace fills with locals as much as hotel guests.
