QC Terme Bagni di Bormio Bagni Nuovi

Why It Matters
One of the oldest thermal hotels in the Alps, dating to 1836, with an 11,000 sq metre spa complex that's among the largest in Europe. The property combines genuine historical architecture — frescoes by Antonio De Grada (1895), a Belle Époque ballroom, a royal suite commissioned for an Italian king — with QC Terme's contemporary wellness programme spanning 35+ practices.
Founded in 1836 and set inside Stelvio National Park just outside Bormio, QC Grand Hotel Bagni Nuovi is a five-star Art Nouveau grande dame with a pink facade, red shutters, and flower-filled balconies. The real pull is the 11,000 sq metre thermal complex — one of the largest in the Alps — where guests access panoramic outdoor pools, saunas, Turkish baths, and the Venus Garden directly from their room in a bathrobe. No two of the 74 rooms are quite alike, and the Royal Suite still holds the original pink Candoglia marble bathtub installed for King Vittorio Emanuele III in 1917.

How you'll actually spend your days.
8km of signed hiking trails within the hotel's 40-hectare monumental park. One route leads from Bagni Nuovi to the Fonte Pliniana — an artificial grotto built around a natural spring whose water is promoted as a regenerating drink. Trails vary in difficulty. The microclimate in the park supports unusual vegetation diversity.
Bicycles available to rent at the hotel for exploring the surrounding Stelvio National Park valley.
The Bormio ski area is steps from the property. The hotel offers ski storage, ski equipment hire, and ski pass arrangements for guests. Bormio is a World Cup ski race venue with challenging pistes.
Bormio Golf Club is approximately 1.6km from the hotel — easily reachable by car or bicycle.
Horse riding available on site or in the immediate vicinity.
On-site kids club for younger guests. Note that children under 5 are not permitted in the thermal spa areas.
Guided group experiences led by QC Terme's Wellness Masters. Events recreate authentic Roman bathing culture — communal immersions with guided meditation, aromatherapy, and thermal rituals. Schedule varies seasonally.
