Why It Matters
The original and flagship Quinta Real property. Founded in Guadalajara in 1986, it set the blueprint for the brand's colonial luxury ethos across Mexico. The Presidential Suite is its own separate building with a piano. The Tierra Mia restaurant ceiling mural depicting Jalisco's agricultural history took local artists more than six months to complete.
Quinta Real Guadalajara is the founding property of the Quinta Real Collection, built in 1986 on land once belonging to the affluent Martinez family. The grounds feel more like a countryside hacienda than a city hotel — ivy-covered pink stone walls, stone archways, lush manicured gardens, and bronze sculptures tucked into green corners. Inside, museum-quality artwork (much of it from the original Martinez collection) lines the halls, and ceramic pieces peek from niches in stairwells. The contrast between the calm of its Vallarta Norte address and the sprawl of one of Mexico's largest cities is jarring in the best possible way.
