Quirk Hotel started as an art gallery. Owners Katie and Ted Ukrop opened Quirk Gallery in 2005 on Broad Street, and the hotel followed as a natural extension of that creative project. The building itself dates to 1916 — a former J.B. Mosby & Co. Dry Goods Store with Italian Renaissance bones, 13-foot ceilings, and original maple floors that have been carefully restored. Today it's 73 rooms of art-forward design in Richmond's downtown arts district, with a pink-and-white lobby that makes an impression the moment you walk in.

The standard king is what most guests book. Large windows flood the room with natural light. Restored maple and pine floors, custom reclaimed-wood furniture, original artwork by local artists, and a white-and-neutral palette with pink accents. Not huge, but well-designed and feels more considered than a typical downtown hotel room.
KingKing Suite
More space than the standard rooms, with a separate living area. Custom furnishings, local artwork, and the same attention to materials — reclaimed wood, hardwood floors, premium bedding. Guest reviews describe these as 'spacious with balcony and view of the city.'
KingLoft Suite
Multi-level loft layout — the 1916 building lends itself to interesting vertical configurations in the upper floors. More dramatic ceiling heights and a distinctly residential feel. Popular for longer stays and special occasions.
