RED Helsinki
Industrial-Nordic lifestyle hotel. Raw concrete surfaces, dark material palette, local art installations — including Finnish artist Jenni Rope's 24-metre hanging mobile 'Gust of Wind' in the atrium. The vibe is energetic and unpretentious rather than slick or corporate.
Ask for a park-facing room on a higher floor — views over Kaisaniemi Park are the standout feature of the property
Why It Matters
First Radisson RED in Finland, and one of only four in Scandinavia. The building itself — by Anttinen Oiva Arkkitehdit — is a genuine architectural statement in the Kaisaniemi Park corner. Art is woven into the DNA, from the near three-metre lobby sculpture inspired by Helsinki Station's famous lantern carriers to the ceiling installation. Green Key certified.
Finland's first Radisson RED opened in October 2023 in a striking modernist building designed by Anttinen Oiva Arkkitehdit, right on the edge of Kaisaniemi Park — one of Helsinki's oldest green spaces. Finnish design studio Fyra handled the interiors: exposed raw concrete, warm dark wood, and bold RED brand colour touches throughout. 195 rooms, a 24/7 gym with boxing bags, a Finnish sauna, and the RED Bar & Kitchen on the ground floor. No pool, no spa treatments, no parking on-site. But the location is genuinely hard to beat: Central Station is a 5-minute walk away.
